Jean-Claude Bernardet

 

 

 

 

Jean-Claude Bernardet is a brazillian critic, writer, teacher and filmmaker. He was born in 1936 in Belgium and lived in Paris during his childhood. When he was thirteen years old he moved to Brazil and in the 1950 ́s he became a great interlocutor of the Cinema Novo (New Cinema), a brazillian cinematographic movement inspired by the italian Neo-Realism and the french Nouvelle Vague. In the 1990 ́s he directed two film essays: São Paulo, Sinfonia e Cacofonia (1995) and Sobre Anos 60 (1999).
