Pier Paolo Pasolini

Pier Paolo Pasolini was an important poet, intellectual, writer and film director born in 1922, in Italy. He enriched the development of art and politics in diverse ways and was a very controversial figure, what resulted in his murder in 1975, because of his political left inclination. He contributed to the enlargement of the film essay both theoretically and filmmaking. With works like Notes Towards An African `Orestes`, he questioned the representation of reality by cinema, adding a personal, self-reflexive and subjective point of view.
