This Pasolini ́s work is about his preparation for filming a cinematographic version, in Africa, of Oresteia. Therefore, the film is like a collage of preliminary ideas, music, global politics and casting. According to Phillip Lopate, this collage form makes it difficult for the spectator to understand the director ́s stream of consciousness. He must bring the pieces together on his own, because Pasolini doesn't show any concern in linking them and making his point of view very clear. Then, these elements are brought together to form an essay around movie-making itself. The fact that the real movie - Oresteia - wasn ́t even filmed leaves a very interesting reflection about it: a film that could have been, that was or that can be.!
